Zig Ziglar On The Secret To Success

This is Zig Ziglar’s classic video on priming the pump. In it he uses a water pump to show how success only comes when we have put in the necessary effort.  As he states if we work hard enough and long enough, the reward will follow the effort.  In our age of soundbites and “on-demand everything,” it is easy to forget that success rarely comes immediately.  Instead, it is a hard fought battle of perseverance.
Zig’s insights hold true for our own management and leadership development.  We are not born effective managers and leaders.  We become effective through perseverance and continual improvement.  This is the secret to success. We fail when we give up too soon. Zig shows that we will not get the water until we are willing to prime the pump.
